22 Vintage Images of Children Working Hard (Just Kidding!)
Thanks to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) of 1938, child labor is now banned in the United States. However, during the Industrial Revolution, children were often forced to work in factories, mines, and fields. Photographer Lewis Hine captured the harsh reality of child labor through his powerful images, which played a crucial role in the passing of the FLSA. The majority of the photos in this gallery were taken by Hine, showcasing the difficult and dangerous working conditions that children were subjected to during that time.
